What is end of life care?
End of life care, also known as palliative care, is care for people in the last stage of a life-limiting illness. It focuses on pain management, comfort and dignity.
At Chase House, end of life care is provided by or under the supervision of qualified nursing staff, 24 hours a day. We plan care around each person and what matters to them, and we support their family too. Because we’re a residential care home that also provides nursing and dementia care, residents can often stay with us through to the end of their life, without having to move somewhere unfamiliar.
Residents live in a home that dates back to the 1850s, with high-ceilinged bedrooms, most with en-suite facilities, and secure gardens with water features, a sensory garden, and animal and bird enclosures. Families are welcome to bring familiar things from home to help their loved one feel comfortable.
